Aquabarrel recommendations for winterizing a rain barrel.
Instead of totally removing rain barrels in the winter as recommended by Aquabarrel, in a temperate climate, it should be sufficient to just open the valve at the bottom of the barrel to drain it before the first hard freeze. Any rain that occurs will just pass through.
